Established in 1995, DCE represents a unique joint venture partnership between PD Entertainment: one of the country’s leading event managers and Consolidated Press Holdings: Australia’s largest media company. Since that time, DCE continues to shape and support the development of Australia’s $6.1 billion cultural and entertainment industry, through the staging of live events that range from global concert tours to award winning theatre productions. Since the beginning of the decade, more than 5 million Australians have attended a DCE event.
DCE is dedicated to providing superior touring and promotional support to leading international artists through its unique understanding and innovative approaches to staging events for the Australian market. In addition to its special focus on encouraging and assisting home grown talent such as Delta Goodrem, our approach is endorsed by the continued patronage of a diverse group of the world’s largest entertainment acts that include, but are not limited to: The Rolling Stones; U2; Paul McCartney; Prince; George Michael; Neil Diamond; Guns n Roses; k.d. The company also has played a major role in theatre and musical production, managing critically acclaimed shows and box office blockbusters both in Australia and around the Asia Pacific region. Particular examples of shows that have either been produced or co-produced by DCE include: Billy Crystal’s 700 Sundays; Mamma Mia; Tribute to the Blues Brothers with Russell Crowe; The Rocky Horror Show; Saturday Night Fever; Riverdance; Mum’s The Word; and Jerry Seinfeld Live.
The DCE team is a collaboration of leading entertainment industry professionals combining the broad range of skills and experience necessary to successfully stage major events. All our staff have specialist knowledge of current trends and practices in event management as well as historical reference points that have been gained through a long term involvement with the entertainment industry.
The DCE Team is routinely acknowledged by its peers for its outstanding achievements within the industry. They have been entrusted with producing the annual AFI Awards as the gala night for the nation’s film industry. In addition, DCE has won four prestigious Helpmann Awards and the company has been recognised in global industry rankings – PollStar – as the leading Australian Promoter and was placed as the number 11 company in the world.
DCE is lead by Paul Dainty who has been at the cutting edge of the Australian entertainment industry for over 30 years. He has a strong reputation for being able to entice otherwise elusive international performers to tour Australasia. He is also a Director of the Film Finance Corporation Australia, sits on the Board of the Sydney FC as an Independent Director and recently joined the Board of the Peter Mac Cancer Foundation.
