Robert G. Bartner has produced Stephen Sondheim’s Company (Tony® Award) in New York and Sweeney Todd both on Broadway and in the West End. Other musicals produced in the West End are Frank Loesser’s Guys & Dolls (Olivier Award) and The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess directed by Trevor Nunn at the Savoy Theater. Plays produced in London are Boeing Boeing, Tom Stoppard’s Rock ‘n’ Roll, Dealer’s Choice, The Lover and The Collection: An evening of Pinter, In Celebration, Elling, Bent, Love Song, Eh Joe, Donkey’s Years, The Old Masters, As You Like It, Shoot the Crow, As You Desire Me, The Home Place, Hitchcock Blonde and the upcoming That Face by Polly Stenham.
On Broadway Mr. Bartner has associate produced Is He Dead?, an unpublished comedy by Mark Twain and produced Brian Friel’s Faith Healer with Ralph Fiennes, August Wilson’s Gem of the Ocean, Brooklyn, Nilo Cruz’s Anna in the Tropics (Pulitzer Prize). Off-Broadway: Trying, The Play About the Baby, Beckett/Albee and Wit (Pulitzer Prize).
Mr. Bartner actively supports the arts in New Haven, St Croix and at Lincoln Center and the New York Philharmonic. Bob would like to thank his family, especially his wife M. Beverly, for their love and support.
