Jersey Boys Australia - The Story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons

Audience Raves

We asked people who went to see Jersey Boys in December 2010 what they thought of the show.
There were just too many to publish here, but here's a sample of what they had to say:

Lorraine H. said:

"Fantastic - one of the best I have seen. I would recommend it to anyone of any age. I took my son and he enjoyed it just as much as I did. The entire show was fabulous. Great music, great story, fabulous cast."

Kenneth from Glenwood said:

"Truly an inspirational performance, not a dull moment in the whole show. I saw the show in New York in 2007, but I can honestly say that I enjoyed the Sydney performance as much or even more than New York. Congratulations to all the cast and producers for letting me see such a performance. "I'll be back" I promise that before it finishes its run! "

Lauren from Seven Hills said:

"WOW! I was unfamiliar with the Frankie Valli story and I absolutely loved this production! The set was awesome, the cast was phenomenal and I almost bought tickets to see the show again as I was heading out. Such great music!"

Cristine from Picnic Point said:

"I first saw Jersey Boys in Las Vegas last October I had my 17 year old daughter with me, I had taken her to a number of high profile shows but this was her favourite by far. I saw it at the Theatre Royal in December and sat right at the front and felt a part of it. I found the production every bit as good as Las Vegas however I preferred Sydney's "Frankie". I could watch this show over & over and my 21 year old son would love to see it as well. This goes to show it appeals to all ages (I am 50). I couldn't recommend this show enough it has humour, sadness, excitement and superb music and dancing. A must see for everyone!!!!"

Carmelina from Edensor Park said:

"I have seen it twice and could see it twice more. It was the best stage show I have ever seen. Loved it more than words can explain. The Aussie cast are unreal!!!"

Peter from Pagewood said:

"One of the best shows I have ever seen. Plenty of toe tapping and singing along. Seeing this show - once is not enough."

Justine from Coogee said:

"We loved it baby!!!!!
I bought my mum a ticket as a gift...the best gift she received!! I could have walked straight back in and watched it all over again. Once is definitely not enough. A must see, in my opinion. The cast are outstanding performers. Oh, what a show!!!!!"

Susan from Illawong said:

"Absolutely tremendous. I went first time in Melbourne with no expectations and came out blown away. So much so, I bought more tickets to see a second time round. I did not know these guys were behind so many fabulous songs."

Roger from Cherrybrook said:

"A magnificent polished performance by all the members of the ensemble. The acting is only surpassed by the singing -- resulting in a marvellous upbeat feeling by the end of the show. I liked the humour and the story telling is engaging from the opening number. I would have no hesitation in recommending this show to all my friends."

Christine from Beacon Hill said:

"Jersey Boys crossed all age groups from my sons in their 20's to my father in his 80's. The performance was slick, the music electrifying and the cast professional and highly entertaining. I kept singing the songs for days later and love the CD too. It is the best musical I have been to in Sydney over the past 10 years. An absolute winner!"

Chantelle from Cronulla said:

"The show was amazing. I wasn't sure what I was going to see but haven't stopped raving about it since. Simple yet encompassed all that it needed to. Great songs, great atmosphere, great show."

John from Sawtell said:

"From the opening introduction to the closing notes, we had a fantastic and wonderful journey with the Jersey Boys. We loved the part where their first "hit" Sherry Baby exploded onto the stage - it was an electrifying moment!"

Fay from Wahroonga said:

"I have loved Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons since 1962 when Sherry was played for the first time on Sydney radio. We saw them when they appeared at the Hilton probably about 15 years ago. I happened to be in New York when Jersey Boys was previewing there and I have subsequently seen it in Melbourne and Sydney - and shall be back for more. It is a show full of the most wonderful music, with absolutely great performances from the whole cast. You don't need any more than this to make it a fabulous musical but you get more because the human story of how the group started and progressed, their joys and tragedies, make it a very special experience. Long live Jersey Boys."

Susan from East Kurrajong said:

"Best night out I've had in a long time! The voices were sensational, the music fantastic and the story compelling. We went on a Sunday night when some of the back-up cast members were performing and were completely blown away by the voices and the portrayal of the characters - I can only imagine how good the "regular" cast must be, because it's hard to imagine the show could get any better. Awesome night out, don't miss it!"

Angela from Norwood said:

"My partner and I travelled from Tasmania to Sydney to see Jersey Boys and took my 79 year old father. My father said to me at interval "this is the best show I have seen in my whole 79 years!" We all forgot we were watching a Broadway show it was as if we were seeing Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons live they were absolutely fabulous!! We would all go again and again. I play the CD I bought over and over. It will be hard to watch and compare any other show!"

Farrah from East Killara said:

"ABSOULUTELY FABULOUS!!
Great music, singing, acting and storyline. Can't stop singing the songs afterwards. The best musical I have seen in a long time.....thanks Jersey Boys!"

Jordan from Roseberry said:

"The best show I've seen, Glenn Quinn as Tommy and Bobby Fox as Frankie are the standouts, (in fact I think Glenn Quinn is the best in the world at Tommy Devito) I fail to see how anyone would not enjoy this show! Keep it up guys!"

Gregory from Paramatta said:

"The musical Jersey Boys is a "must see" experience for all age groups. It was surprisingly very relevant to the age group of my sons being in their early teens. Interesting story with excellent character development, good music, vocals, dancing, props, dialogue and dynamics between actors. This musical is comical and energetic, while it also touches the heart and inspires."

Catherine from Hurstville said:

"Jersey Boys is the best show in town, any town. The cast is fantastic, the production, the direction, set design, and of course the music..is a WOW! I am on my way tomorrow to see it again, and intend on seeing it again with other friends. I saw the show in December and I haven't stopped singing the songs from Jersey Boys ever since."

Gordana from Fairfield said:

"Absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!
Brilliant high energy toe tapping show! The production, the choreography, the music numbers, the costumes, the story was beautiful, amazing musicians and a brilliantly amazing cast put together consisting of Bobby Fox (the golden voice), Glaston Toft (a ridiculously talented performer), Stephen Mahy (brilliant) and Glenn Quinn (hilarious) a standing ovation at the end at every show. I have been 5 times so far and I will definitely be going again and will be recommending it to all my friends and family. But the best thing about the show is when Bobby sings the "Can't Take My Eyes Of You" number and I look into the audience and see all the older couples who were there when the song was first released and they start to jiggle in their seats. They look at each other and you can tell by their body language that they are reminiscing of the times of how they felt, back when they were growing up and falling in love in 1967. Out of 10, I give it a 100!
Absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!!
You would be a fool not to go and see it!"
