The season kicks off with our very first musical by the great composer, Stephen Sondheim. It is Follies, one of his finest. It’s a celebration of the remarkable personalities and stars who work in theatre. Many of Australia’s most admired stage personalities are appearing in this landmark production.
Our second show, Damn Yankees, is a musical comedy about Baseball and the Devil! Young rising stars, Pia Morley, David Harris and Matt Hetherington feature in this Broadway classic.
Our third show for the year will be our 30th musical presentation, and to make it special, we are presenting a new production of the first show we ever did, Mame. I’m excited because Rhonda Burchmore and Alan Fletcher have agreed to star again in this wonderful show.
Book now and you will be allocated the best seats in the house and, for the first time, you will retain the right to book these same seats for future seasons.
Subscription prices are more competitive than ever. You see all three shows for a subscription of $198 in the A Reserve. B Reserve is $138, and the C Reserve Subscription is lower than in 2007, being reduced to $84 for the season of three shows.
Our policy continues to be ‘quality entertainment at the lowest prices’ and it’s especially true for our subscribers.
I hope you’ll join us as we celebrate the best of Broadway in Melbourne in 2008. See you at the State Theatre.
