On Wednesday 21 April FAME opened at the Regent Theatre and the show blew the audience away. The energy in the room was infectious and started the season off with a bang! The Australian described it as "feverish, furiously energetic", "superbly delivered" and a show with "all the discipline and precision of Radio City Music Hall's famous Rockettes… so finely honed that it has the improbable precision and perfection of a video clip" while The Age called it "a high-octane rocket ride, fuelled by energy and skill of a youthful cast." Read the reviews for yourself and then get your tickets to see what all the fuss is about! Hurry it's only in Melbourne until 13 June, don't miss out!
The FAME cast have been extremely busy as well as having to perform eight shows a week, they have been in high demand visiting Melbourne schools and meeting all their fans. Kurowa Anglican Girls School was the last school lucky enough to get a visit from the gorgeous Timomatic and Chris Durling - lucky girls!
The electrifying dancing in this show is extremely demanding and pushes the dancers’ bodies to the limit! With eight shows a week, and very little rest time between performances, the risk of injury is high if they are not looked after properly. FAME depicts the lives of young dancers, musicians and actors all following their dreams of being a star. Whilst all striving for the same thing, they are very different individuals with diverse stories and pasts! From Iris the delicate ballerina, to Tyrone the tough and naturally talented street kid, they are all unique in their own way.
